Vasanti was born in Antwerp, Belgium from where she and her family immigrated to the United States at a young age. She was raised in Boca Raton, FL. As a child visiting her family in India, Vasanti was exposed to the blatant inequities in the medical world, which subsequently sparked her interests in OB/GYN and women’s health. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Miami in 2016, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry with minors in religious studies and exercise physiology. After graduation, she had the opportunity to attend medical school at her home institution. Go Canes! During medical school, she dedicated her time to learning more about LGBTQ+ health and worked with Miami’s transgender population, combating pressing issues such as intimate partner violence and the nuances of gender identity. Vasanti enjoys watching Bollywood movies, sampling desserts, and many forms of dance.
